Have You Met Julia? Sesame Street's Newest Character Has Autism

Sesame Street's newest character is a shy 4-year old. Julia likes to paint and pick flowers. When Julia speaks, she often echoes what she's just heard her friends Abby and Elmo say-- that's because Julia has autism.

Her puppeteer, Stacy Gordon, used to do therapeutic work for people with autism and her own son is on the spectrum. We'd say she's in good hands.
