Selena Gomez says that she has received a kidney transplant due to her struggles with lupus.
Gomez said in an Instagram post on Thursday that she has been somewhat out of the spotlight this summer because she was recovering from the surgery:
She did not disclose her current condition and her publicist has not supplied additional information.
Gomez said that the donor was television actress Fancia Raisa, who is seen holding hands with Gomez in her Instagram post.
Gomez first revealed that she had lupus in 2015.
