Front End Loader Used to Free Woman Trapped in Home by Snow

LORRAINE, New York (AP) — Firefighters had to use a front end loader to rescue someone in upstate New York who got trapped in her home by a storm that dropped a massive amount of snow.

The female resident of Lorraine, New York lived in an area at the eastern end of Lake Ontario that got about 6 feet of snow. The temperature in nearby Watertown plunged to minus 32 on Thursday morning, further solidifying snow pack.
